🍂 Perry City News - November 2026 🍂

Here's a quick look at what's happening in Perry this month:

🇺🇸 Veterans Day: City offices, the library, Water Works, and McCreary Community Building will be closed on November 11. No yard waste pickup that day.

🦃 Thanksgiving: City offices will be closed November 26-27. Thursday garbage pickup will move to Wednesday, November 25.

❄️ Snow Reminder: Please do not park on city streets during snow emergencies so plows can clear the roads.

🌿 Yard Waste: The Yard Waste Site is open daily for Perry residents. Check collection dates before setting out yard waste.

🚧 Roundabout Meeting: Learn about the planned Highway 141 and Willis Avenue roundabout at a public meeting on November 4 from 4-6 p.m. at the McCreary Community Building.

🏃 Parks & Rec: Water fitness classes are back in November, and McCreary memberships are available for all ages.

🎄 Lighted Holiday Parade: Kick off the holiday season at Perry's Lighted Holiday Parade on November 27. Bring the family and enjoy the festive lights!

Earlier this year, the Iowa Department of Transportation recommended the City of Perry add a roundabout at Highway 141 and Willis Avenue, near the entrance to the Perry Industrial Park on the southeast side of town. After a work session with DOT officials, the City Council approved the project.

While construction is scheduled to take place in phases during 2027 or 2028, ahead of that, we invite the community to a Public Information Meeting regarding the roundabout on Wednesday, November 4th, from 4-6PM at the McCreary Community Building (1800 Pattee St).

The City of Perry has a program that may help pay for roof repairs or replacement for some homeowners.

✅ Must live in Perry
✅ Must own and live in your home
✅ Must meet income requirements
✅ Must be up to date on taxes, mortgage, and utilities

Repairs may include roofs, gutters, soffits, fascia, and chimney removal.

📅 Applications are open October 29 through November 12, 2026.

⏰ Help is available on a first come, first served basis.

Satellite "Early" Voting for the 2026 General Election is ongoing NOW...

at the McCreary Community Building- 1800 Pattee St, Perry, Iowa 50220
October 27, 2026 until 3:00 P.M.

If you'd like to surrender your Absentee Ballots at this Satellite location and fill out a new ballot, that is acceptable. Otherwise you must return your ballot in one of the following ways:

*Mark your ballot and then follow the instructions included with your ballot to return it in the postage-paid return envelope. It is vital that you utilize the return envelope supplied in order for your ballot to count.

*You can return your voted absentee ballot by mail or in person. Absentee ballots received in the county auditor's office by the time the polls close at 8 pm on election day are eligible for counting. Read the instructions sent with the ballot.

Voted absentee ballots cannot be delivered to the polling place on election day.

And voters can register or make changes to their registration, leading up to, or even on Election Day!
