Get a rare glimpse of history up close right here in Rhode Island! 📜

This summer, as part of the commemoration, Rhode Islanders and visitors will have the opportunity to view original copies - dating as far back as 1776 - of the Declaration of Independence.

Here are the first two opportunities to see one of the nation’s founding documents in person:
📍 Ponaganset High School Library | Wednesday, June 3 | 5–7 PM
📍 East Greenwich Town Hall | Saturday, June 6 | 12–2 PM

Whether you’re a history buff, bringing the family, or just looking for a unique Rhode Island event, this is a chance to connect with history in a powerful way.

🌳 Liberty Tree planting ceremonies continue across Rhode Island this June!

Join your community for these upcoming ceremonies:
📣 Glocester – June 7, 11AM–12PM | Kent Field
📣 Woonsocket – June 8, 2–3 PM | Dunn Park
📣 Johnston – June 10, 10–11AM | Johnston Historical Society

In the 18th century, Liberty Trees served as gathering places where colonists shared ideas, organized, and sparked the spirit of independence. Today, communities across the state are planting new Liberty Trees to honor that legacy and celebrate the values of freedom, unity, and civic engagement.

Each ceremony will include remarks from local leaders, a reflection on the significance of Liberty Trees in Revolutionary America, and the dedication of a tree as a living symbol for future generations.

🌳 Three more Liberty Trees have been planted! Residents from Bristol, Warwick, and Lincoln gathered for dedication ceremonies as part of Rhode Island’s Liberty Tree Project.

The Red Maple—Rhode Island’s state tree—will be planted in all 39 municipalities, honoring the original Liberty Trees that served as gathering places during the American Revolution and stood as living symbols of freedom, resilience, and civic engagement.
