What is Kuno Scale? It's a soft scale insect that actually doesn’t look much like an insect at all! They appear as small, rounded, shell-like bumps attached to the plant and they can impact fruit trees.

Leaf roller caterpillars are back...and busy! 🐛

These tiny architects roll leaves into shelters and feed from the inside out. An early heat wave may have given them a head start this year. Look out for curled leaves and webby construction. Leaf rollers look dramatic, but most plants can handle some damage and the caterpillars will be gone in a few weeks. Large colonies can be sprayed with Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) but natural predators and hand removal also reduce their numbers.
