Memorial Day is a solemn U.S. holiday dedicated to honoring and mourning the military personnel who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces.

Observed on the last Monday of May, it is a time for quiet reflection, gratitude, and remembrance of the ultimate sacrifices made for the nation.

While often celebrated with the start of summer traditions like backyard barbecues and parades, the true meaning of the day is rooted in sacrifice.

It is a day to set aside the routines of daily life to ensure that the cost of liberty is never forgotten and that the legacies of fallen heroes live on. For this, we are forever grateful for those who gave it all for our country, and the families forever impacted by their sacrifice.

The focus is on wellness, prevention, and how we can help ourselves and those we care for to thrive with healthy aging. (It was established by President JFK and the National Council of Senior Citizens.)

It's a time to recognize the contributions of older adults and the importance of supporting healthy, connected aging. From learning new tools to staying connected with family, healthcare, and community, the impact goes far beyond the screen.
