As students return to campus, families are reminded that cellphones and other personal communication devices must be turned off and stored out of sight for the entire school day in accordance with NEISD policy.

We know this may be an adjustment for some students, and we appreciate our families working with us to start the year off strong and help students stay focused on learning!

Hi, my name is Jacob! I graduated from UTSA in May 2026 with a degree in Kinesiology and am currently working toward my alternative teacher certification to become an elementary PE teacher. I love helping kids stay active, build confidence, and have fun. When I'm not at school, you can usually find me playing basketball, hiking, or listening to music. I can't wait to meet our students and be part of this school community!

Ms. Melinda Castaño has been teaching in NEISD her entire career. She taught primarily middle school math, 19 years at Eisenhower Middle, two years as a math specialist at Tex Hill Middle, and this is her third year as a Hyper-Accelerated Math (HAM) Rover. She is active at Grace Avenue Church, just a few minutes away from El Dorado. She is a UTSA alumnus, but also attended UT-Austin, and San Antonio College. Her entire family calls San Antonio home, although some of the younger generation now live out of state.
She loves the experiences of elementary school and especially 5th grade! She is excited to begin her 24th year of teaching at El Dorado Elementary, along with Stahl Elementary and Woodstone Elementary.

Hello! My name is Jocelyn Balderrama, and I am so excited to begin my journey as a first-year 2nd grade teacher! I graduated from Texas State University, where I earned my degree in education and developed a passion for helping young learners grow both academically and personally.

I am thrilled to be a part of this school community and cannot wait to learn and grow alongside my amazing second graders this year. My goal is to create a classroom where every student feels safe, supported, and excited to learn. I look forward to making this a fun, memorable, and successful school year for all!

Hello Families! I am thrilled to join El Dorado as your part-time school counselor. I bring 10 years of NEISD counseling experience, a background as a bilingual dual language teacher. I’m an LPC and Couple & Family Therapy Associate and a proud mom to three sons raised in NEISD who are El Dorado alumnus. I’m a nature lover who loves hiking and camping, and a doggie mom to two spoiled girls. I look forward to a fantastic school year with our students!

Ofrezco 10 años de experiencia en consejería en NEISD, un trasfondo como maestra bilingüe de lenguaje dual.
