At Visitation Ministries, we walk alongside pregnant and parenting students as they navigate school, family life and everything in between.

That can look different for everyone — from help finding child care, transportation, health care, housing or financial resources, to support with time management, academic accommodations, community building, and professional development.

For student parents, the cost of attending college can look very different.

At a public college, out-of-pocket costs can be 2-5x higher for student parents than for other low-income students without children.

And on average, a student parent would need to work 52 hours per week to cover child care and tuition at a four-year public college or university.

These numbers help show why college affordability and access to childcare are such important parts of the conversation around student parent success.

Today, Visitation Ministries is entering a new chapter focused on supporting pregnant and parenting students pursuing higher education in the San Antonio area.

We’re building partnerships, connecting with students, and working toward a program that can walk alongside them throughout their educational journeys.

Visitation House Ministries is now Visitation Ministries.

While our name has changed, our commitment to serving our community continues, and we remain a sponsored ministry of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word.

We’re looking forward to this next chapter — continuing to serve our community, building new connections, and growing through collaboration and partnership.

We can’t wait to share more of what’s ahead. 💙
