Reminder for Artists! The deadline for the Community Art Show had been extended to Saturday, June 27th!

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Sandusky Library operating the Follett House, we are holding a Community Art Show in the newly christened Sandusky History Museum at the Follett House. Our hope is artwork will be inspired by the Museum, the surrounding community, and/or the history of the region (much of which can be found in the Museum).
Here are the details:
- Artists can be any age and any skill level.
- Artwork can be a painting, mix-media, a photograph, a drawing, digital graphics, or a sculpture.
- Artwork can be up to 11" x 14" in size.
- Artwork must be dropped off to the Sandusky Library by 5:00 p.m. Saturday, June 27th.
- The Library is offering one free 11" x 14" canvas (per person and while supplies last) to anyone interested in using it as a part of the art show. * Canvases can be picked up at the Readers Desk in the Library or at the Museum during open hours.

Artwork will be displayed throughout July at the Sandusky History Museum at the Follett House and in August at the Sandusky Library. A special artists' open house & reception, open to the public, will be held on Wednesday, July 1st from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Sandusky History Museum at the Follett House.

Step back into history with "Camp Delaware," a powerful documentary that tells the story of the 5th United States Colored Infantry Regiment and their journey from training to the battlefield during the American Civil War. Centered on Camp Delaware in Ohio, the film explores the courage, sacrifice, and determination of the soldiers who fought for freedom and justice.

Through period music, personal letters, and the words of historical figures including Abraham Lincoln, Edwin Stanton, and Ohio Governors William Dennison Jr. and David Tod, the documentary brings this important chapter of American history to life. The film also highlights the heroism of Medal of Honor recipients James H. Bronson, Robert Pinn, Milton Holland, and Powhatan Beaty, whose extraordinary actions helped shape the legacy of the United States Colored Troops. Join us for this moving and inspiring look at a remarkable story of service, perseverance, and valor.
