The Steps for Sustainability 5K is happening THIS SATURDAY at Mohawk Harbor, and there’s still time to join us!

Whether you’re ready to race for your best time or would rather enjoy a walk with friends and family, we’d love to see you at the starting line.

Every participant will receive a finisher medal, plus enjoy post-race refreshments and awards for the top three male and female finishers in each age group.

Our Weekend Backpack Program is back for another school year with the help of our faithful volunteers! 🎒💛

Today kicked off the first week of packing at our Distribution Center. Every week that school is in session, volunteers will pack backpacks filled with food for around 100 children in local schools, helping ensure they have food to take home for the weekend.

We’re so thankful for the volunteers who faithfully give their time each week to care for children in our community and help meet a very practical need. Their service makes this program possible all school year long!

A beautiful day, a great round of golf, and a whole lot of support for City Mission! ⛳☀️

Thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday at Mohawk Golf Club for our 13th Annual Golf with a Mission tournament. We loved seeing everyone out on the course, and your generosity will make a lasting difference at City Mission.

Today, we had the honor of celebrating the volunteers who serve so faithfully at the City Mission Thrift Store! We gathered for a special Volunteer Appreciation event filled with delicious food, fellowship and gratitude for all they do. ❤️

Our volunteers give generously of their time, welcome customers with a smile, care for the donations entrusted to us and help make the Thrift Store a place of connection and community. Their service also helps sustain the work of the Mission and makes a meaningful difference in the lives of men, women and children throughout our community.

As a small reminder of their impact, each volunteer received a hand-painted rock from our Thrift Store Team. The tree represents the Mission, while its exposed roots represent the people whose work may not always be seen but helps the Mission continue to grow and thrive.

To our wonderful Thrift Store volunteers: thank you for the time, care and heart you bring to the Mission. We are so grateful for each of you! 🌳

Our Freight Farm was thriving this Labor Day! 🌱 Faithful volunteers Ann, pictured here, and Ron spent part of their holiday caring for the farm and harvesting an incredible 600 heads of fresh lettuce. 🥬

We are grateful for Ann and Ron, and for every volunteer, supporter, partner and friend whose generosity makes this work possible. Your faithful support helps keep City Mission’s doors open and our services available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Thank you for serving alongside us!

🛁 We’re in need of gently used towels!

Clean, gently used towels can make a meaningful difference for the men, women and children we serve each day. If you have towels at home that you no longer need, we would be grateful to put them to good use! 💙

With a new school year just around the corner, we’re grateful for the many friends and community partners who have donated school supplies for local children! 🎒✏️📚

These gifts ease the financial burden for parents while helping children begin the school year feeling prepared and excited to learn.

Today, we’re giving a special shoutout to Sue, pictured on the right, from Electro Fiber Technologies in Schenectady. Sue recently delivered boxes and bags filled with new school supplies that will benefit children in need throughout our community.

🏃 Steps for Sustainability 5K
Good news! We've extended the race shirt guarantee deadline. Register by September 8 to be guaranteed a moisture-wicking race shirt!

Join us Saturday, September 26 at Mohawk Harbor to run or walk. Every participant will receive a finisher medal, plus we'll have post-race refreshments and awards for the top three male and female finishers in each age group.

Yesterday, we were grateful to take part in the MLK Back to School Community Day, helping local families prepare for a new school year! 🎒👟✏️

Thanks to the generosity of friends like you, community partners, and dedicated volunteers and staff, families were able to choose from clothing, shoes, school supplies, hygiene items and other essentials to help their children start the year feeling prepared and confident.

From racks filled with clothing to tables overflowing with sneakers, school supplies and even stuffed animals, each item represented a community coming together to care for its neighbors. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered and helped make this day possible. Your generosity continues to provide help for today and hope for tomorrow.
