Need help in an emergency but don't speak English?

Our Language Line service is here to bridge language barriers, ensuring EVERYONE gets the assistance they need when calling 911.

Helpful tips to make sure you get the help you need:

- Identify your language in English, if possible, to help us connect you with the right interpreter.
- Don't hang up - stay on the line.
- Once connected with an interpreter, share details about the emergency, your location, name, and phone number, and answer the call taker's questions through the interpreter.

We're here for you, no matter the language!

We had a great time at Maplewood Elementary's Career Day last week!

Our team enjoyed talking with students about the many jobs that keep our community connected to emergency services.

And while we were there, we learned about a few exciting careers, too. Thank you, Potelco Inc., for the bird's-eye view from one of your boom trucks.

A big thank you to Maplewood Elementary for the invitation and to all the students who stopped by the booth!

Just like every 911 call can be different, so can every 911 center.

Because of our size and the number of police and fire agencies we serve, we have five specialized positions working together to help keep our communities safe and connected to the right resources.

• Communication Support Officer (CSO): Handles non-emergency calls, assists with certain reports, and helps connect callers to the appropriate resources and services.

• Telecommunicator (911 call taker): Answers all incoming lines, determines service type, and transmits info to dispatchers via CAD.

• Law Enforcement Dispatcher: Handles law enforcement calls for service. Gathers critical details, prioritizes calls, and dispatches necessary units/personnel.

• Fire Dispatcher: Handles fire and medical calls for services. Gathers critical details, prioritizes calls, and dispatches necessary fire and medical resources.

• Data Dispatcher: Handles police data channels, processes record checks, and handles warrants and impound requests.

Different roles. One shared mission: helping get the right response to the right place as quickly and safely as possible.

Visiting our area for a match, watch party or local event?

International visitors may know a different emergency number at home. Here in the U.S., the number to remember is 911.

For police, fire, or medical emergencies, call 911.

A voice call is the best way to reach help, especially for international visitors. Text to 911 may not work reliably with international phones, roaming service, Wi-Fi calling, or messaging apps.

WhatsApp and other messaging apps do not connect to 911.

Need an interpreter? Say the language needed, and one can be added to the call.

Help is available 24/7.
