Help represent your county on the 2026 Statehouse Holiday Tree! KAC and the Kansas Arts Commission invite Kansans in all 105 counties to help create holiday ornaments that share their county’s stories, history, and identity. Artists, schools, county staff, organizations, businesses, and residents may all participate by coordinating with their local tourism office or convention and visitors bureau.

Selected ornaments will decorate the Statehouse Holiday Tree and become part of the Governor’s permanent public art collection.

Get involved by completing the Intent to Submit form in the comments. Questions may be sent to [email protected].

🎄’Tis (Almost) the Season! Deck the Statehouse with Your County’s Story!

Show us what makes your county uniquely YOU.

Contest winners will be recognized at the Kansas Association of Counties Conference in December. The collection will then be displayed in the Historic Kansas State Capitol.

📍Counties provide critical services to their constituents, even when funding and requirements are often controlled outside the county level.

📊 That is why KAC offers the Budgeting and Finance class through our Foundations in County Government professional development program. This course is designed for county officials and staff to strengthen practical budgeting skills for navigating local priorities, required services, and constraints outside of local control.

📩 Look for details soon on two more of these popular Budgeting and Finance class offerings. To confirm your subscription to Kansas Association of Counties newsletters, email info@kansascounties.
