U.S. President Biden signs $770 billion defense bill

I was pleased to see President Biden signed the National Defense Authorization Act signed into law yesterday. The NDAA will have a positive impact across the country, including here in central Arkansas where our airmen and women at the Little Rock Air Force Base will receive a 2.7% increase in pay and expanded benefits.

This important bill also holds the Biden Administration accountable for their disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan, contains provisions to counter our adversaries such as Iran, Russia, and China, and upgrades our military equipment while making targeted investments in emerging technologies to combat future threats.

U.S. President Joe Biden signed into law the National Defense Authorization Act, or NDAA, for fiscal year 2022, which authorizes $770 billion in defense spending, the White House said on Monday.

Build Back Better battle not over after Manchin says 'no': Rep. Hill

I joined Cheryl Casone this morning on Mornings with Maria to express my concern that the battle over Democrats’ “Build Back Better” tax-and-spending spree may not yet be over.

Rep. French Hill, R-Ark., argues the progressive left 'won't give up' until they achieve 'bigger government,' taxing small businesses, and passing social spending bills.

I enjoyed spending part of the day with the hardworking men and women of UPS to help deliver Christmas packages across Little Rock. I rode along with US Army Veteran Brodderick Norman and got to see first-hand everything UPS is doing to donate to children and the less fortunate this holiday season. This is the sixth year I've ridden alongside UPS and each year I am reminded of the strong community we have here in central Arkansas.

I would like to thank BSA Troop 30, alongside Luke Gilbert at Saint Mark's Episcopal Church, and the St. Francis House for helping pack and assemble Christmas boxes.

For years now, Scouts at Troop 30 have helped the St. Francis House assemble holiday food and boxes for residents at the Jessie Powell tower. I am proud of their dedication to service and making our community a better place.

This morning I had the pleasure of hosting a press conference to discuss my new bill, H.R. 6080 - the Ronald A. Robinson Post Office Act.

This bill will name the USPS Post Office on Kavanaugh Boulevard in Little Rock after Ron Robinson, who served on the USPS Citizens’ Stamp Advisory Committee for 15 years, serving as Chair of the Committee for 3 years.

I was also pleased to be joined by his son, Reid, where we discussed his father’s legacy and dedication to Little Rock.

Fentanyl Invades More Illicit Pills, With Deadly Consequences

Over the past few decades, we have seen countless lives lost to opioid overdoses. Fentanyl and synthetic opioids have become more prominent in many drugs including he**in, pills, and co***ne. As a member of Congress, I realize that I have the ability and responsibility to make a change. In hopes to be a part of the solution, I introduced legislation, the Preventing Overdoses and Saving Lives Act, that would increase access to naloxone – a medication that reverses opioid overdoses. These deaths are preventable, and by making naloxone more accessible we can work together to prevent them.

A bootleg version of fentanyl being made mainly by Mexican drug cartels is spreading to more corners of the U.S., increasingly inside fake pills taken by people who in some cases believe they are consuming less-potent drugs.

The most small businesses since 1978 raised prices in November due to high inflation

Last month, 59% of small-business owners were forced to raise their prices because of inflation, which reached a 39-year high in November. Now, small businesses could face over $400 billion in tax hikes under Democrats’ reckless “Build Back Better” agenda. President Biden’s economic policies will only further fuel this economic crisis and increase costs on hardworking Arkansans.

The number of small businesses that raised prices in November rose to a 42-year high, a new survey showed, as owners sought to cover their own rising costs due to high U.S. inflation.

As a member of Congress, one of my priorities is providing assistance to our veterans. The best way to support Arkansas’s veterans is to understand the issues they are dealing with. Last month, we closed 71 cases for our veterans and helped our veterans receive $64,721.95 in earned benefits.

I am proud to have three combat vets on my team to directly help Arkansas’s veterans get the benefits they have earned and deserve.

If you or someone you know is a veteran and needs help with the VA or other veteran-related issues, contact my office at https://hill.house.gov/ or call my Little Rock office at (501) 324-5941

This morning I had the pleasure of delivering remarks to the 18th convention of the National Assembly of Sportsmen Caucuses in Little Rock. I joined Jeff Crane, President of the Congressional Sportsmen Caucus, and Simon Roosevelt, Chairman of the Sportsmen Caucus Foundation, at the annual meeting of state legislative leaders. Farm Bureau Leader, Mike Freeze, gave a great overview of farmers leading the way on land and habitat restoration.

It was great to see several fellow Arkansas lawmakers. I also had the pleasure of meeting Katherine Andrews, the new state director of the Office of Outdoor Recreation at the Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism.

I was happy to see this national group of hunters, fishermen, and outdoor recreation enthusiasts in the Second District of Arkansas! I appreciate the work of our legislators across the country that join in our mission to advocate for responsible conservation and outdoor recreation.

Inflation surged 6.8% in November, even more than expected, to fastest rate since 1982

Inflation is ultimately just another tax on hardworking Arkansans. Inflation reached a four-decade high in November and has gone up every month under Joe Biden’s presidency. Over the past year, food prices have jumped 6.1%, gasoline is up 58.1%, and energy prices have risen 33.3%. The proposed spending in Democrats’ “Build Back Better” agenda will only further exacerbate inflation and result in too many dollars chasing too few goods.

While working as a Senate staffer, I had the opportunity to see Senator Dole as a legislator first-hand. One of the lessons I learned from Senator Dole was that one could debate their colleagues, without creating enemies. This is a lesson I stand by today.

Senator Dole had a great sense of humor, and did a lot for our country. This afternoon, I took a moment to reflect on his life and the impact he had on our nation, working everyday to make the country a little greater.

Under the biden/harris administration, there are people like Mohammad Fahim Hotak that helped and/or worked for the U.S. Govt and/or the U.S. Military that were left behind in Afghanistan. These people are now living in hiding as well as homeless due to threats against their life..... The Taliban are continuing to murder those who help the United States. After being left behind in Afghanistan, our elected officials are now turning their backs on these people...... How disgraceful that our elected officials continue to allow this to happen..... These people are begging for their safety and the safety of their family waiting to be slaughtered by the TALIBAN TERRORIST GROUP (whether the U.S. Department of State wants to recognize it or not) AND NO ONE IS LIFTING A FINGER TO HELP...... I am disgusted that, elected officials continue to call themselves Americans, while they turn a deaf ear to so many who have helped the United States fight against terrorism. Joey Biden continues to secretly fly illegal immigrants late at night, all over the United States. How pathetic this so-called President who continues to call himself an American chooses to turn his back on those who have help the United States in so many ways. To see Mohammad Fahim Hotak story for yourself it is posted on Congresswoman Doris Matsui face book page Matsui, Doris O. Mohammad Fahim Hotak Congresswoman Doris O. Matsui Dear sir/madam! There is a common threat against people who helped U.S Govt, U.S Army, And Coalition Forces during the last 20 years,. And has been conducted many times against us. During the last 20 years we have seen a lot of people who helped U.S.A have been killed, punished, tortured and slaughtered. Terrorists don't care who we are, in which position we have worked and what's our tribe, language or ethnicity. By work and helping U.S Govt, U.S Army and coalition Forces we and our Family members are not out of the risk. I have worked as a Driver in HQ-ISAF with the Ecolog International FZE company since 15/Feb/2010 to 2020. Due to my hard working in HQ-ISAF I have presented lots of Certificates from U.S Govt and NATO Countries. Before I worked with the American troops, my family and I were living n Laghman province. In the first days of my mission with the United States, my family and I were threatened by the terrorist group (Taliban), and we had to leave Laghman province, we moved to Kabul province. We are an educated family, my father Mohammad Talib served in the military (Ministry of Interior). Later, during the presidency of Hamid Karzai, he started teaching as a school teacher and is still a teacher. My brother Mohammad Wasim graduated from high school, Mohammad Wasim also worked with me for a year in the Ecolog International FZE company, my other brother Mohammad Fahim is a medical student. When we came to Kabul, we thought we were safe, but despite the Taliban threats it continued here as well. My father went to Laghman province in 2014 to see relatives. The Taliban arrested and tortured my father and told him that your son should not work with American soldiers, otherwise your son and your family would be killed. After this incident, we could not travel around, and go to our home town. One day while I was driving and transporting the soldiers' clothes to the American camp, I was stopped and suddenly several people attacked me and tore my hand with a knife and threw a white flag (Taliban flag) into the car, I started the car and got to the camp، the American doctors came and stitched the torn area of my hand, later I told my supervisor #Sean Slaughter about the incident, I had already told my supervisor everything about the threats made by the Taliban and he recommended me to the SIV program and wrote me a recommendation letter. Despite all these threats, I have sincerely and firmly supported the U.S GVT and I have continued my mission. The Taliban are currently in Afghanistan and around my house. My family and I can not leave the house. My brother Mohammad Fahim wanted to leave the house to photocopy some documents, but he was beaten by the Taliban and prevented from leaving, and beat up my son, blood was flowing from his head,we are prisoners, waiting for our slaughtering. Every day children, men and women are beaten and killed under various pretexts (government employee, police, civil activist,Journalists and etc.) by the Talibans and the people cannot raise their voices because they are afraid of the Taliban. The Taliban start searching for people who have worked with foreign troops and at night they enter their house and kill them .I believe that sooner or later it will be the turn of me and my family to be slaughtered. I'm not a crime criminal, I didn't do any criminal activity the main reason that we are under surveillance is I did work for the U.S Govt. As your 12-year-old ally, I ask for justice and humanitarianism, and you must guarantee my life and that of my family in return for my honest service, and get us out of Afghanistan. #Date 9/20/2021, We left our home Last night through our nieghbor house, because of some threaten informations, we are in hiding at a friend's house , now we are homeless in our own country. My brother #Mohammad Nasim Hotak Day 10, in hiding...
As corrupt as this administration is and how deceitful the democratic party is. I am sure they will try to find a way to make all these illegal alien's citizens of the United States so that they can increase their voter turnout in 2024. After the disaster this administration has caused already it will be the only way for them to win.
And the list continues to grow from the worst administration the United States has ever seen..... This administration operates more like a communist network than anything else. IMPEACH THE WHOLE ADMINISTRATION
BREAKING: New Questions about U.S. Capitol Police Shooting of Unarmed Ashli Babbitt In a statement from Judicial Watch, “According to Previously secret records we have obtained show there was no good reason to shoot and kill Ashli Babbitt in the U.S. Capitol on January 6. The Biden-Garland Justice Department and the Pelosi Congress have much to answer for over the mishandling and cover-up of this scandalous killing of an American citizen by the U.S. Capitol Police.” “Babbitt was shot and killed as she climbed through a broken interior window in the United States Capitol. The 14-year Air Force veteran was unarmed. The identity of the shooter was kept secret by Congress as well as federal and local authorities for eight months until U.S. Capitol Police officer Michael Byrd went public to try to defend his killing of Ms. Babbitt.” On April 14, 2021, the Justice Department issued a press release stating: “The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia and the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Department of Justice will not pursue criminal charges against the U.S. Capitol Police officer involved in the fatal shooting of 35-year-old Ashli Babbitt …” To read the entire report follow the link
11. Every time the biden/harris administration is asked a question or if they can justify their decision, their answer and/or reaction is always the same, by blaming someone else. I seem to recall that during an interview and/or speech, the biden/harris administration made a statement referring to the buck stops here. I myself say with all due respect BS. I cannot tell you how many times I have heard this administration put the blame on others, never taking the blame for their own incompetence, HOW PATHETIC. This administration has perfected the finger pointing while blaming others as well as applying double standards depending on who the audience is. I find it hard to believe that any of our elected officials are to blind to see the utter incompetence this administration has at the same time appearing to be proud of it. For the past several months we have witnessed this administration wreak havoc on the United States. Instead of Adapting, Adjusting, Building Upon Something or Modifying Upon Something, this administration has made it a point to destroy everything past administrations have done. The time has come to hold the biden/harris administration accountable.
10. Under the biden/harris administration, an uncontrolled rush of illegal, COVID-infected, crime-laden, sexually trafficked, gang-related, cartel-run migrants pouring across our southern border and being transported throughout the interior of our country courtesy of his administration. Cartel related gun fights with border patrol and the national guard 80 miles inside the southern U.S. border
8. Under the biden/harris administration; the recklessness of this administrations withdrawal from Afghanistan assisted in 13 members of the military being killed and several others being wounded. The biden/harris administration considers these deaths as casualties of war, which is a war time term, to hide behind. Let me be perfectly clear when I say, casualties are to be expected during a time of war however, the location where these military personnel were killed was supposed to be a secured area, protected by the military which was at the time being withdrawn. Whether it was the fault of advisor’s, upper brass or bad intel matters not, this alone shows how incompetent this administration is. Even a 5-year-old child can tell you that military personnel are the last to leave when facing a hostile situation. This tells me that a 5-year-old child is smarter than those elected officials we trust to govern accordingly. What a disgrace and waste of taxpayers’ dollars.
6. Under the biden/harris administration, Taliban fighters executed nearly two dozen unarmed members of the Afghan special forces, mowing down the soldiers in a town market after they surrendered when they ran out of ammunition, CNN shocking new video shows. CNN reported that, “the US military drawing down its troops to meet an end-of-August deadline for withdrawal, the Afghan soldiers received no air support as they normally would from the US military.” According to the biden/harris administration air support would continue since the U.S. does not recognize Afghanistan as being a restricted no fly zone. Just another reason why these pathological liars in the White House must be held accountable.
