Today, I had the chance to say goodbye to some of my students and families, and it was an emotional one. Some of these families have been a part of my life for the past 19 years.

I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again: I wouldn’t be the leader I am today without the Richey community. Richey has shaped me, challenged me, supported me, and helped me grow in ways I will carry with me for the rest of my career. I truly owe this community the world.

Stepping away from my Richey family is incredibly hard. This place and these people will always hold a very special piece of my heart. But there is also something comforting about knowing that I’m not really leaving the work behind. In my new role as Director of Elementary Education, I will still have the opportunity to partner with Richey and schools across our district to continue doing the work I love.

Thank you, Richey, for the memories, the lessons, the laughs, the challenges, and most importantly, the relationships. Thank you for allowing me to be a small part of so many students’ and families’ lives.

Richey will always be home.
