Barrow County Fire Department, Barrow County 911, AMR, and the Barrow County Senior Center are teaming up for a HALLOWEEN PARADE! 🚒🚑🎃

📅 Saturday, October 31, 2026
⏰ 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Bring the whole family, dress up in your favorite costume, and come enjoy an afternoon filled with CANDY, COMMUNITY & FUN! 🍬👻

🚒 Sparky will be riding on the fire truck!
🎃 Costumes are encouraged!
🍬 Candy, smiles & Halloween fun!

📍 PARADE ROUTE:
1️⃣ Patterson Mill – Kay Dr. & Taylor Ct.
2️⃣ Jacob’s Walk – Raymond Dr.
3️⃣ Daniel’s Crossing – Gage Dr.
🏁 Parade concludes at Daniel’s Crossing.

We had so much fun fundraising at the Statham Sunflower Festival today! Thanks to all the staff and members that helped today, thanks to all who purchased from us, and thanks to EVERYONE for spending months working on all the handmade goodies!

Please join us in congratulating Barrow County Senior Center Director Candice Hardie, who was recently named Vice President of the Leadership Council of the Georgia Association of Senior Centers (GASC).

"As Vice President of the GASC Leadership Council, I am honored to serve alongside leaders from across Georgia who are committed to advancing this shared mission. Together, we are building stronger senior centers, stronger communities, and a stronger Georgia for generations to come," said Hardie.

GASC is a statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening the impact of senior centers and empowering the professionals who lead them. Representing more than 250 senior centers across all 12 regions of Georgia, GASC serves as a unifying force for communities committed to helping older adults thrive.

Today, our seniors gathered around the flagpole to pause, pray, and share a moment of silence in remembrance of September 11, 2001. 🇺🇸

With bowed heads, we remembered the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the courage and sacrifice shown in the days that followed.

May we always carry their memories in our hearts, cherish the freedoms we have, and never forget the strength and unity that brought us together. ❤️🇺🇸

🌺🌴 Aloha, Summer! 🌴🌺

We ended the summer in true island style at the Senior Center! Our Luau Party was filled with sunshine, smiles, good food, music, dancing, and plenty of fun. 🍍🌺🩴

Thanks to our friends at Parks & Rec for hosting us! And a big thank you to our friends at the Fire Department for always coming out and celebrating with us! 🚒❤️ Your continued support and willingness to join in on the fun means so much to our Senior Center family.

Thank you to everyone who helped us make this summer one to remember! We’re already looking forward to more good times, great memories, and lots of laughter. 🌴💃🕺
