We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Northeast Georgia Area Agency on Aging for organizing this year’s Annual Regional Picnic and for giving the Barrow County Senior Center Choir the honor of performing the National Anthem.

We are incredibly proud of our choir members and grateful for their hard work, dedication, and commitment in preparing for this special event. Their performance was a wonderful reflection of the talent and spirit of our senior community in Barrow County.

Also a huge thank you to Jackson County for hosting us! From bingo and raffle prizes to great food (with The Varsity always being a crowd favorite), dancing, and celebrating Older Americans Month, the day was filled with fun, fellowship, and lasting memories. It was truly a fantastic event and a wonderful celebration of the older adults who enrich our communities across the region every day.

And as a final stamp of approval—Reba agrees it was a Honkin’ Good time ! 🪿❤️

We’re still not over the magic of our 2026 Silver Seniors Prom: Roaring 20s Masquerade! ✨🎭 What an unforgettable night filled with glitz, laughter, dancing, and the absolute BEST community spirit!

EARLY VOTING UNDERWAY

Early voting is officially underway for the May 19 General Primary Election. Those wishing to take advantage may do so weekdays 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Barrow County Elections Office, located at 233 E. Broad Street in Winder.

Saturday voting will be available May 2 and May 9 (also at the Elections Office) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.
