A reminder to Property Tax/Rent Rebate applicants that you must apply every year to receive a rebate. Use our flyer below for some tips on checking your eligibility and seeing if you’re eligible for a rebate up to $1,000. You can apply for a rebate on property taxes or rent paid in 2025 until December 31, 2026. More info at pa.gov/PTRR.

Seniors, join the Franklin County Area Agency on Aging for the next Franklin County Senior Pantry Day on Monday, August 24 at the Greencastle Senior Activity Center.

From 10 am to 1 pm, any Franklin County resident age 60+ is welcome to receive a free food box of non-perishable items, fruits, vegetables and meats, thanks to our friends at Helping Hands and Caring Hearts. Hygiene products will also be available to those in need.

Insurance decides when rehab ends. It doesn't decide when your house gets a ramp.

Many newly injured people go straight from the hospital to a home that isn't ready or to a transitional facility. But in Portland, Oregon, there's now a third option.

Mortensen House is a fully accessible home run by Oregon Spinal Cord Injury Connection, where you can live for a week to three months and practice daily life before doing it for real.

It's a two-bedroom in a quiet suburb, remodeled over years by Michael Mortensen, a wheelchair user who wanted it to keep serving people like him after he was gone. Five guests with SCI have already stayed, and OSCI is preparing to host its first newly injured resident.
