From the paddock to cutting-edge agtech, Queensland innovation is helping reshape the future of farming. 🚁

Founded by North Queensland grazier and robotics engineer Sam Rogers, Brumby is transforming cattle mustering with autonomous drones and artificial intelligence.

Its GrazeMate technology enables producers to guide livestock, monitor pastures, estimate herd weights, and inspect fences and water points, helping reduce reliance on helicopters, motorbikes and labour-intensive processes while improving safety and productivity.

What began as a firsthand understanding of the challenges faced by remote cattle stations has evolved into a scalable solution with global potential. In 2026, GrazeMate secured $1.2 million in pre-seed funding, supporting expansion across Australia and the United States.

It's a powerful example of how Queensland ideas, backed by collaboration and investment, can grow into solutions that support industry, strengthen regional communities and drive innovation on a global stage.

Innovation is helping Queensland Para-athletes push performance to new heights. 🚴‍♂️

Queensland-based Bowerbird Industries is combining adaptive design with cutting-edge sports science to create technology that supports high-performance Para sport.

Working alongside the Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS), Bowerbird has developed an adaptive training and testing bike that allows athletes and coaches to gather consistent performance data, refine training programs and reduce injury risk through more personalised, evidence-based decisions.

For Para-hand-cyclist Tom Walvin, who is aiming for the Los Angeles 2028 and Brisbane 2032 Paralympic Games, the technology provides valuable insights into performance, helping maximise every training session.

Supported through the Queensland Government's Private Sector Pathways Program, this collaboration is a great example of how Queensland innovation is delivering real-world outcomes, connecting local expertise with elite sport and empowering athletes to reach their full potential.

What happens when global innovators connect with Queensland industry challenges?

The Australian Landing Pad Program is helping bring world-leading agrifood technologies to Australia, creating opportunities for new partnerships, trials and commercial outcomes.

The 2026 Australian Landing Pad cohort came together at evokeAG. in Melbourne earlier this year, connecting international innovators with local producers, researchers, investors and industry partners. Participants including Tertiary Extracts (New Zealand), TIER IV (Japan), CropVue Technologies (Canada) and Solarferm (New Zealand) have since built connections with Queensland industry.

Current challenges and opportunities across Queensland's agrifood industry include biotechnology and biological solutions, automation and robotics, AI-enabled decision-support tools, climate and water efficiency technologies, and biosecurity preparedness.

By connecting international startups with producers, researchers, government and industry partners, Queensland is helping turn innovative ideas into practical solutions that support a productive, sustainable and competitive agriculture sector.

If you're a global agrifood startup or scaleup looking to enter the Australian market, check your eligibility and apply now. Through Team Queensland, access the connections, capability and partnerships that can help accelerate your growth in Australia
