With school holidays around the corner and possibly extra screen time on the cards, now’s a good time to check that your personal and school devices are being used safely. 📱🎮
⚡ Check before you connect
Inspect chargers for cracked enclosures or damaged plug pins, and cords for exposed wires, fraying. If a charger or cable is damaged, stop using it and dispose of it safely. Faulty chargers can cause electric shock or fires.
💧 Keep chargers dry
Water and electricity don’t mix! Ensure your kids charge devices in dry areas and keep chargers away from sinks, drinks, and wet hands.
🔌Don’t use devices while charging
To reduce the risk of electric shock, don’t hold your phone or use wired headphones while devices are charging.
🛑 Safe charging habits
Never place items on top of devices while charging, and don’t let children sleep with phones or tablets under pillows or blankets. Devices can overheat and cause a fire.
Follow these tips to help keep your family safe these holidays and enjoy the break!
