Friending Staff on Facebook

Please note that the Department of Education and Communities has this advice for teachers 'Friending' parents on Facebook:

The line between your professional and personal life could become blurred making it difficult to manage your professional relationship with the parents when that becomes necessary. You also need to bear in mind that becoming a Facebook friend with a parent could result in their children getting access to your account as well. You also need to be mindful that you need to be careful what you say on Facebook if you have parents as friends as comments made online can be misunderstood and could result in parental complaints made to your principal. In short, please do not ask to friend a member of staff on Facebook as refusal often offends.

🌟 What a day! 🌟

Our Year 4 explorers have had an action-packed day on camp! 🙌

We started our day exploring the Old Gaol, learning about the history and stories of the past. 🏛️ We then headed to the Culture Centre, where students had the opportunity to step back in time and visit a 1917 schoolhouse — a wonderful way to experience what school was like over 100 years ago! 📚

Next up was the incredible Yayoi Kusama exhibition 🎨✨ Students loved exploring the colourful and immersive artworks and experiencing art in such a unique way.

And the fun isn’t over yet! 🦁🌙 We’re finishing off our action-packed day with a night tour at the zoo, discovering what the animals get up to after dark.

What an amazing day of learning, exploring and making memories! ❤️

Our Year 4 explorers are well rested after a good sleep. We did hear the lions during the night which was exciting. A little rain this morning won’t dampen our spirits or plans for the day. Off to Dubbo to explore this morning before returning to the zoo. Everyone is going well and having a wonderful time.

ICAS assessment update:
The ICAS writing assessment must be completed via a lock down browser. Unfortunately technical difficulties with the browser prevented students at MSPS sitting the test last week. Via consultation with Department of Education IT staff and ICAS the problem has now been rectified.
The ICAS writing assessment will be held on Wednesday this week and ICAS English will go ahead as planned on Friday.
We apologise for any inconvenience or confusion this may have caused.
With thanks,
Megan Shepherd (ICAS Co-ordinator)
