General Manager Jay Nankivell and Mayor Tom Kenedy were joined by council staff and councillors for the ribbon cutting at the new Warnock st garage.

The new facility is the first (and largest) stage of the Warnock Street Master Plan, a long term plan which aims to gradually redevelop the Depot to meet modern standards.

Council's outdoor workforce has received a welcome boost with the opening of the new garage workshop at the Warnock Street Depot.

Update 24/09/2026 9:50am: We now have 2 waste trucks running and one more on the way! Please leave all bins out as normal and we'll keep working to get operations back to normal as soon as possible.

⚠️Important Update for Waste Collection

With the ongoing shortage of waste trucks at our disposal, we're going to have to pause green waste pickups until further notice and focus on household rubbish pickups in the short term.

Please leave your green waste bins out however and we'll get onto them as soon as we can.

We expect trucks to be coming back online over the coming week and a half, which should ease the situation.

Apologies for any inconvenience.
