The Broken Hill Hospital Kiosk Auxiliary volunteers have made their biggest ever donation to Broken Hill Hospital in a single year, contributing more than $209,000 to enhance equipment and services for patients and staff.

The funds will go towards equipment for a range of wards and departments across the hospital including an endoscopic processor and monitor upgrade, orthopaedic surgical equipment, and a laryngoscope imaging system upgrade.

We are extremely grateful and very proud of the Kiosk volunteers and everything they do 🩷

The Kiosk Auxiliary is always on the lookout for volunteers.

Families and carers are being urged to be aware of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) - a common respiratory virus that can cause serious illness, particularly in babies and young children.

RSV can cause symptoms including a runny or blocked nose, cough and fever, and in some babies can lead to breathing difficulties and hospitalisation.

If your child has respiratory symptoms, you can help reduce the spread of illness by:
✅ keeping sick children away from childcare and school
✅ avoiding close contact with people who are unwell
✅ practicing good hand hygiene
✅ taking extra precautions when visiting vulnerable settings such as hospitals and aged care facilities.

Need advice about your child's symptoms? Phone healthdirect on 1800 022 222, free 24/7, and you will speak with a Registered Nurse.

In an emergency always phone Triple Zero (000) or present to your nearest emergency department.
