An Awareness note from DBCA, regarding a planned prescribed burn in our patch. Near Canning Drive and Mississippi Bend.
The Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions, Parks and Wildlife Service is responsible for the management of Western Australia’s State Forests, national parks and nature reserves. The department also undertakes fire mitigation works including prescribed burning on unallocated land and unmanaged reserves outside of gazetted townsites on behalf of the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage.
The department uses planned fire to manage these natural environments in order to maintain the biological diversity of habitats and species richness, and to protect life, community assets, heritage values and natural resources from damage by bushfire.
Parks & Wildlife Esperance intends to conduct a prescribed burn in ESP_057 11 Mile Beach-Twilight Beach UCL (Cell A) within the next month as long as suitable conditions allows (please find attached map).
At different stages smoke may impact various roads within the area, Traffic Management will be in place as required.

NOTE: FINAL DECISION TO CONDUCT THE PRESCRIBE BURN WILL BE MADE ON SITE DAY OF BURN ANY CHANGES WILL BE COMMUNICATED ASAP.
