We found that the biggest barrier to organisations bringing young people on as volunteers was fear of the risks associated with child safety.

Safety isn't a single check, it's a system!

We have compiled six common questions (with some suggested answers) that Volunteer-Involving-Organisations tend to ask us when they're thinking of bringing teens on board.

MYTH: "Young people are too busy to volunteer."
REALITY: Many young people want to contribute but opportunities need to work alongside study, work, sport, family and other commitments!

During our youth project over the last year we noticed a few assumptions surrounding young people's participation (or lack of) in volunteering, and have collated our findings into 9 handy Myth vs Reality slides!

NYVW is 2 weeks away!

National Youth Volunteer Week (10-16 August) is just 2 weeks away!

This year the theme is Your Year to Lead, recognising that leadership isn’t defined by age or title. Leadership begins with taking action, contributing your ideas, supporting others and making a difference.

Join us in celebrating the incredible impact made by young volunteers, and recognise their potential as the future leaders of WA.

Esperance Museum Case Study – Esperance Youth Volunteering

In this video, we meet Charlie at the Esperance Museum. After connecting with the Museum’s Cultural Officer at a youth volunteering workshop hosted by the EVRC, Charlie joined the Museum’s front of house volunteer team.
With a strong interest in history and a desire to build skills for future employment, volunteering at the Museum has been a great fit!
