Community house is a proud partner with SecondBite
A recent email informed us that FY 2026 stats show SecondBite rescued 26.8 million kilos of quality food and shared the equivalent of 53.6 million meals with people in need through 950 charity partners- which Community House is one.

Our stats show we are cooking and serving over 500 meals per month to the community and have over 240 individuals accessing our Secondbite program weekly

❤️🎄 THE HEART OF CHRISTMAS 🎄❤️
Only 87 days until Christmas Eve.
This Christmas, Community House would love to bring a little extra joy, kindness and Christmas spirit to people in our community who may be struggling.
We are planning a special “Heart of Christmas” Community Service week in the week leading up to Christmas.
🎅IF Father Christmas delivers, we will provide:
•Christmas hampers for people and families doing it tough
•Beautiful Christmas decorations lovingly made by our volunteers- community members are welcome to join in and help.
•Lolly bags for the children from Father Christmas
•A FREE sausage sizzle for everyone
•A warm, welcoming place where people can come together and feel part of our community, have a chat and a cuppa

Community House relies heavily on funding and community support to make these things possible. We may not have a large budget, but we have something just as important — a community that cares. Fingers crossed we are successful with our funding application.

Our hope is to bring people together, share what we have, give where we can and remind those who may be struggling that they are not forgotten this Christmas.
Christmas isn’t about how much we have.
It’s about how much we can give, share and do for others. ❤️ We would love to hear from local businesses, community groups, churches, organisations and individuals who may like to help make The Heart of Christmas possible.

Together, we can put the heart ❤️ back into Christmas.🎄

It's time to show off....Our mosaics group has been quietly putting together some masterpieces. It's hard to believe that some of these are first timers at mosaics. They are smashing out some wonderful creative pieces and I am in awe of their work and very proud to be working with such a lovely group of ladies.

A heartfelt thank you to the Port Lincoln City Council for providing $10,000 in 2026 funding to support Community House and our “Meals from the Heart” program! ❤️
This generous funding directly benefits local residents by helping us prepare and provide delicious, healthy meals for people in our community who may need extra support. Together, we are helping ensure that more locals have access to nourishing food, connection and care.
We are seeing a different cohort of people seeking assistance now rentals have risen so much.
Community partnerships like this make a real difference. When local organisations, councils and residents work together, we can strengthen our community and support one another for a better future.
Please join us in celebrating this partnership and thanking the Port Lincoln City Council for investing in the wellbeing of local people.
