Mr. Carlos Pol, Chief Executive Officer of the Ministry of Economic Transformation, alongside officers from the Project Planning Unit (PPU) and Climate Finance Unit (CFU), met with the Chief Sustainability Officer of the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI).
The discussion focused on emerging regional initiatives, opportunities for Belize’s engagement, and areas of mutual interest, with an emphasis on strengthening regional coordination and advancing shared development priorities.

The Climate Finance Unit (CFU) convened a strategic meeting with the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), Development Finance Corporation (DFC), and the Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre (CCCCC) to discuss regional and national initiatives and explore opportunities for collaboration.

The meeting brought together Mr. Manfred Kopper, Chief Sustainability Officer, CABEI; Mr. Mansfield Blackwood, Assistant Executive Director, CCCCC; and Mr. Mario Lara, Chief Financial Officer, DFC, alongside the CFU team.

As key partners in advancing Belize’s access to climate finance, the discussions provided an opportunity to strengthen coordination, identify areas for collaboration, and support the mobilization of resources for Belize’s climate and development priorities.

Together, we continue to build stronger partnerships and advance climate-resilient development for Belize.

On August 7th The Ministry of Economic Transformation engaged in its yearly Staff Appreciation Retreat. During this time members of the staff body came together to relax, unwind and foster a team building spirit as we participated in several fun and exciting activities.

These initiatives are extremely imperative in ensuring that our hard-working staff and can take some time to meet and dialogue with each other and for us to maximize on collaborative efforts as we work together under our mission to formulate, coordinate, and implement national economic development policies, plans, and strategies to reduce poverty, unemployment and inequality for all Belizeans.

This important forum will bring together key stakeholders to advance sustainable financing initiatives that support Belize’s green and blue economy, fostering resilience, innovation, and inclusive economic growth.
