In celebration of World Intellectual Property Day under the theme “IP and Sports: Ready, Set, Innovate!", the Belize Intellectual Property Office hosted an engaging Roundtable Discussion today at our conference room.

The session brought together key stakeholders from volleyball, football, basketball, cricket, baseball, cycling, gymnastics and car racing organizations to explore the importance of protecting intellectual property in the sports industry, including athlete branding, team logos, broadcasting rights, and innovations. Participants shared valuable insights on current challenges, gaps in awareness, and opportunities to strengthen IP protection and enforcement in Belize.

This meaningful dialogue marks an important step toward empowering athletes, teams, and organizations to better protect and benefit from their intellectual property.
