The Minister of National Defence and Border Security, Honourable Florencio Marin (Jr.) received a courtesy visit from Japan's Ambassador to Belize, His Excellency Ryosuke Yamakura today at the Ministry's Headquarters in Belmopan. The meeting served to reinforce the diplomatic ties between the two nations and explore new avenues for bilateral cooperation.
Following an exchange of pleasantries, Minister Marin and Ambassador Yamakura engaged in a productive dialogue on several matters of mutual concern and regional security. His Excellency apprised the Minister on the scope and strategic focus of Japanese diplomatic missions currently operating in the Western Hemisphere, underscoring Japan's commitment to fostering international stability.
Ambassador Yamakura proposed some upcoming engagements aimed at bringing together the security forces of both nations.
