HAPPENING NOW: FOLLOW-UP DIALOGUE ON ALTERNATIVES TO IMPRISONMENT

The Ministry of Human Development, Family Support and Gender Affairs, through the Community Rehabilitation Department (CRD) is currently participating in a Follow-Up Dialogue on Alternatives to Imprisonment: Findings and the Way Forward.

Supported through the PACE Justice Programme, funded by the European Union and implemented by UNDP, today’s dialogue brings key stakeholders together to review findings, reflect on progress and, importantly, identify the actions and priorities needed to strengthen alternatives to imprisonment in Belize.

Alternatives to imprisonment are an important part of building a justice system that balances accountability with rehabilitation, creating opportunities for individuals to successfully reintegrate into their families and communities.

The Ministry remains committed to working alongside our justice sector and development partners to strengthen approaches that are people-centred, rehabilitative and responsive to the needs of Belize.

Today, the Ministry of Human Development, Families and Gender Affairs proudly joins the global community in observing World Day Against Trafficking in Persons.

Our staff wore blue as a visible symbol of hope, solidarity, and our unwavering commitment to ending human trafficking and protecting those most vulnerable to exploitation.

Every blue shirt represents a shared promise to raise awareness, to educate our communities, to support survivors, and to stand united against this crime.

Human trafficking has no place in Belize. Together, through awareness, vigilance, and action, we can help prevent exploitation and protect the dignity and freedom of every person.

Wear Blue. Raise Awareness. End Human Trafficking.
