Belize has officially launched the Belize Climate Ready Campaign. It is a nine-month national public education and awareness initiative designed to make climate information clearer, more accessible, and relevant to everyday life.
Launched on September 23, 2026, by the Climate Change Department (CCD) of the Ministry of Sustainable Development, Climate Change and Solid Waste Management (MSDCCSWM), in collaboration with UNDP and with support from EUROCLIMA, the campaign will help Belizeans better understand:
What climate change means for Belize
- How climate change is affecting our communities and livelihoods
- Belizeβs national climate commitments and actions
- The role of the Climate Change Department
- The Climate Change and Carbon Market Initiatives Act, 2026 and what it means for Belize
- How individuals, communities, businesses, institutions and civil society can contribute to climate resilience
Over the next nine months, look out for educational videos, social media content, TV and radio features, brochures, infographics, community outreach activities, and more.
Most importantly, this campaign is about making climate information something everyone can understand, use and engage with.
Have a question about climate change? Have you seen its impacts in your community? We want to hear from you.
Follow the campaign, share the information, join the conversations, and help us build a more climate-literate and climate-resilient Belize.
Belize Climate Ready. Ready to understand. Ready to act. Ready for the future.
