Yellowhead County Family Time has NEW dates available for Fall!

Join us Wednesdays from 10:30AM to 12:30PM for some indoor fun! This is a free program for caregivers with children ages 0-5, and there will be activities and unstructured free play each week.

Marlboro Community Hall dates: September 23, October 7, October 28, November 18, December 2

Peers Multiplex dates: September 30, October 14, November 4, November 25, December 9

HAPPENING TOMORROW (September 5): The History Through the Athabasca Valley presentation is coming to Edson!

Join Brule resident Ken Groat for a historical talk on the Athabasca Valley since the 1700s. The talk will be held at the Red Brick Arts Centre in Edson on September 5 at 1:30pm.

This is a FREE event. Registration is still preferred, but if you're out and about and interested, feel free to stop by and see if we still have space :) You won't want to miss this great, informative event!

47 Street in Wildwood will be temporarily closed between 51 Avenue and 54 Avenue from September 8 to September 13, 2026, to accommodate construction activities.

Please follow all posted signage, speed limits, and directions from on-site workers. Motorists are asked to use the marked detour route and watch for construction crews, equipment, and changing traffic conditions.

It's almost time for back to school, so Yellowhead County would like to remind parents to share these safety tips with your kiddos!

- Be aware of graders, school buses, industry trucks, and regular traffic.
- Be aware of weather conditions such as snow or fog that limit visibility.
- Keep a safe distance from the road when waiting for the school bus.
- Wear bright colours or clothing with reflective material.

It's almost back to school time, so Yellowhead County would like to remind drivers to be extra alert and drive with caution, especially when approaching a school bus. Be prepared to stop and leave children room to get on and off the bus safely.

Remember: DO NOT PASS a school bus with flashing red lights. Thank you for slowing down and being mindful of school buses and children in school zones.

We are NOW HIRING a Community Outreach Coordinator based out of Wildwood, AB!

Reporting to the Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) Supervisor, the Community Outreach Coordinator is responsible for the planning, coordination, delivery, promotion, and evaluation of community-based programs and services that support seniors, caregivers, and vulnerable residents throughout Yellowhead County. The position services as the primary coordinator for community outreach initiatives, senior's supports, the Home Support Program, the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP), and public education workshops.
