Young people on our Conflict Awareness and Transformation Project have spent the last few days exploring Krakow, studying the Holocaust and developing a greater perception of the impact of conflict on society.

SummerStart visited Belfast Met E3 Studios where they explored creative courses future career options! This group are looking forward to taking their next steps, and are enjoying exploring all the brilliant options in the city!

Journeys are taking a creative look at Good Relations!

This group of young people enjoyed an insightful visit to the Indian Community Centre to discover more about Indian Culture where they tried some delicious foods and traditional Indian attire. The group looked at similarities between cultures and had some really amazing discussions about culture and identity.

The group continued to explore good relations in a creative writing workshop where they discussed and explored the theme of Peace. Each young person produced a poem about what peace means to them, and look forward to sharing this special work in the future!

✨HeadStart Year 1 Celebration 💫

Today we celebrated HeadStart year 1 participants who have completed their first year on the programme. For all, this means they gained qualifications, work experience, confidence and life long friendships.

Some of the participants will return to further education, either back with us at Springboard for year 2, or on to college / university to pursue their youth work qualifications, others will head in to employment!

We are incredibly proud of the hard work these young people put in over the last year, their achievements are a credit to this and we wish them all every success for their future!

HeadStart led in planning and hosting an important social action project that centered around addiction and recovery services here in Belfast.

Inviting other young people and service providers to attend, the group gathered at Belfast's Big Fish sculpture where HeadStart participant Lucie delivered an impactful speech highlighting the importance of support services for those struggling.

The group handed out positive affirmations while leading a walk to their refreshment stall to raise awareness and talk openly together.

Thank you to Charlie and the team from Rosemount House Limited for attending also and sharing about the crucial work they do and the journey of recovery

HeadStart Year 2s had their final residential this week. An emotional, reflective and impactful trip that will sit with this group for some time...

On arrival young people were handed reflective questions and scrapbooks that looked at their key moments on the programme. They took personal time to look back on their development, and forward to the future.

Young people also received tapes from loved ones and supporters containing messages of encouragement as well as letters they wrote themselves in the beginning of the programme 2 years ago.
Being able to see how far they have come on their journey was an eye opening experience for the group who achieved everything they were uncertain about in the beginning. They finished up by writing affirmations to each other and sent one another off on a high!

A huge well done to these fantastic young people, who are about to embark on the next steps of their journeys. From university to careers and further training, Springboard are so proud of their pursuit of success!
