Sri Lanka Export Development Board Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB Sri Lanka) is the Government Body for Export Promotion It is headed by H.E. the President of Sri Lanka.

The Sri Lanka Export Development Board, usually known as EDB, is Sri Lanka’s apex organization for the promotion and development of exports and was established in 1979 under the Sri Lanka Export Development Act No. 40. EDB is the executive arm of the Export Development Council of Ministers, which is the policy-making body of the EDB. Vision

Sri Lanka's exports keep climbing! July 2026 total exports hit US$ 1,637.26 Mn, up 2.63% year on year 📈
Services exports led the charge (+3.75% YoY), while standout performers like Electrical & Electronic Components (+99.74%) and Spices (+95.98%, driven by a huge pepper surge) powered growth across sectors.
7 months in, Sri Lankan Exports have already crossed US$ 10 Bn in total exports for 2026. 💪

🇱🇰 Sri Lanka’s Exports Surpass US$10 Billion in the First Seven Months of 2026!

Sri Lanka’s export sector continues to demonstrate resilience and positive growth momentum, with total merchandise and services exports reaching an estimated US$10.49 billion during January–July 2026 — a 5.5% year-on-year increase.

Merchandise exports grew by 5.05%, while services exports recorded stronger growth of 7.02%, highlighting the expanding contribution of Sri Lanka’s knowledge-based and value-added sectors.

From ICT/BPM and electrical & electronic components to food, beverages, spices, coconut and rubber-based products, Sri Lankan businesses are strengthening their presence in global markets. 🌍
