On Saturday 17th October, Ngā Pou Kahikatea, our three school kapa haka (Ormiston Senior College, Ormiston Junior College and Mission Heights Junior College) stood at Te Ahurea Tino Rangatiratanga. This performance was the cumulation of more than 10 weeks practise and dedication to learning an almost entirely new bracket.

Those that were there to support on the day were very proud of our student's performance, particularly their growth and skill development within kapa haka.

We must give thanks to Takurua Tangitu and his whānau for their commitment and expertise in tutoring our students and we look forward to beginning our next campaign in the new year - Polyfest 2027!

Term 3 was a milestone season for the Ormiston Senior College Debate Club, marked by historic team success and outstanding individual recognition. For the first time in OSC history, the Advanced Open Senior Team reached the Advanced Senior Open finals. The team—consisting of Jasleen Brar, Jay Govindji, Saanvi Sethi, Jennifer Sun, and Vandita Kumar—put on an exceptional performance throughout the tournament before finishing as runners-up to Selwyn College.

Additionally, Year 11 Senior Open team member Jasmine Duong earned the award for 4th Best Speaker in the entire Senior Open competition. This is a remarkable achievement, as she secured this top ranking against a massive pool of Year 11–13 students from over 40 participating schools.
