The U-Tapao Airport Development Project and Eastern Aviation City are set to take off in early 2025, with a transformative vision for Thailand's infrastructure and economy. Backed by U-Tapao International Aviation Co Ltd (UTA) and a massive 100-billion-baht investment, this ambitious project marks a new era of connectivity for the Eastern Economic Corridor.

Bangkok Airways CEO Puttipong Prasarttong-Osoth shared that UTA has increased its capital from 4.5 billion baht to 15 billion baht, ensuring a strong start to the first phase of development.

Udon Thani Airport is set for a major upgrade by 2028, doubling its capacity with a new passenger terminal, walkways, and better public transport access. According to The Nation, the expansion aims to improve convenience for both Thai and international travelers, with construction starting in 2026. Once completed, the airport will handle over 7 million passengers annually, enhancing Udon Thani's role as a key MICE city in Thailand.

The plan is to more than double the airport’s capacity with new passenger terminal, walkways and convenient access to public transport
