The American Red Cross is currently experiencing a severe blood shortage and has declared a National Blood Supply Crisis the second such declaration in the organization’s history. Blood donations are at a four-year low, and the Red Cross has taken precautions to limit blood distributions so that available supplies can reach as many patients as possible.

If you are willing and eligible, donating blood is one of the greatest gifts you can give and can help save a life. With the current shortage, every donation is needed and can make a meaningful difference. We strongly encourage anyone who is eligible to consider donating.

Thank you for considering supporting this important effort and helping our community respond to this urgent need!

This morning, South End Neighborhood Specialist Shneecka Alexander had the opportunity to join the Albany Mayor Dr. Dorcey Applyrs, Albany Police Department, staff, and students from Giffen Memorial Elementary School to cheer on the riders from Albany Ride for Missing Children as they completed an incredible 100-mile journey.

The Albany Ride for Missing Children is dedicated to raising awareness about missing and exploited children while promoting child safety through education, advocacy, and community partnerships throughout the Capital Region.

It was a wonderful opportunity to come together as a community, show our support, and help spread the important message of keeping our children safe. 💙🚴🏽‍♀️

Today’s ribbon cutting for the Produce Pickup Projectt was a wonderful celebration of community! 🥬
The new tent will provide much-needed protection for Albany Victory Gardens volunteers as the weather changes, helping them stay comfortable while continuing to serve our community.
Maribel, Neighborhood Specialist for West Hill, was proud to be there and celebrate this important milestone! 💚
