Victory over Japan Day
Today we remember the announcement of Japan's surrender, ending WWII in 1945 now known as V-J Day. The surrender initiated a relationship of peace between our two countries when the official document outlining the terms, The Potsdam Declaration, was signed on September 2, 1945.

36 Annual Beirut Memorial Observance Ceremony
This Wednesday, Oct. 23, there will be a 36th Annual Beirut Memorial Observance Ceremony at 10:30 a.m. at the Lejeune Memorial Gardens in Jacksonville, North Carolina.
