You may have seen on the news yesterday that Attorney General William Tong is investigating the online gaming platform Roblox. It’s important and it’s tied into our event happening this Monday, June 1 at 6:30 p.m. at Avon High School.

Who should attend and why: parents, grandparents, and teachers to understand the current and frightening online dangers our children face. Representative Tammy Exum, Senator Paul Honig, and I are partnering with the CT Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection for this presentation.

Currently, all 55 FBI offices in the U.S. have at least one case related to the 764 network, where children are targeted online while playing games or interacting on platforms like Roblox and Discord, and they are then taken to a second encrypted “location” like Signal and ultimately blackmailed into engaging in increasingly violent behaviors.

This event is for adults only, and there will be time at the end for questions. The event is open to anyone, not just Avon residents. We hope you can join us.

PLEASE ATTEND:
The Board of Finance will be making the decision at their meeting tonight about where to cut the 2026-27 budget in response to the failure of the referendum last Thursday.

Please attend in person at the Community Center at 7 pm if you can, and speak in support of our schools and library not bearing the brunt of the cuts.

Thank you for voting in our town budget referendum. The budget did not pass, and results are below. We will continue to work on the budget and welcome your ideas for meaningful cuts that maintain support for things we hold dear. We all have a personal interest in doing the most for our community in the most fiscally responsible way possible, so let’s move forward with that in mind!
