Today is National Buffalo Soldiers Day. This day honors the first peacetime, all-Black regular Army regiments formed by Congress on July 28, 1866. Their historic service and sacrifice established the first regular peacetime all-Black regiments in the U.S. Army. Hearing aids and supplies made easy for Veterans
Order supplies online and get help with adjustments from home
Did you know that VA provides comprehensive hearing health care, including hearing aids, to all Veterans enrolled and eligible for VA care? We provide both in-person and virtual options. You can even order things like batteries and cleaning supplies through VA at no cost.
Untreated hearing loss can have serious impacts on your health, including depression, dementia, and cognitive decline. If you’re experiencing hearing loss, don’t wait to seek treatment. Find out how you can get started with audiology (hearing health care) at VA. And if hearing aids are right for you, learn how to maintain them from the comfort of your home.
How VA makes hearing care easy and accessible
VA provides audiology care at more than 650 sites through both traditional face-to-face care and through teleaudiology. Teleaudiology means you can receive hearing health care at a clinic local to you or at home. VA has a few ways we make this possible:
 Clinic-to-clinic teleaudiology: Go to a local clinic and connect with a health care provider at a larger facility
 Clinic-to-home teleaudiology: Receive care from the comfort of your own home
 Remote hearing aid programming: Connect with an audiologist to adjust and fine-tune hearing aids from home
 Order supplies through VA: Order by mail, on the phone, or online and have supplies shipped directly to you
How to get started with hearing health care
You can schedule a VA audiology appointment without a referral from a primary care provider or any other health care professional. To access audiology services including hearing aids follow these steps:
1. Register for VA health care
You can register online, by phone, by mail, or in person at the VA medical center of your choice. Complete the enrollment process to become eligible for VA health services.

2. Schedule an appointment
Once you’re registered and enrolled in VA health services, you may schedule an appointment at a VA audiology and speech pathology clinic for a hearing evaluation. You can schedule an appointment by calling your local facility, through the online appointment tool on My HealtheVet, or by sending a secure message to your provider.

When you meet with an audiologist, they’ll test your hearing. The audiologist will discuss your options based on your hearing loss, lifestyle, and personal needs. You’ll make the decision together regarding hearing aids and other assistive technology.
There is no cost for hearing aids from the VA, though you may pay a co-pay for your visits.
How to order hearing aid supplies online
To order supplies online, you must have been prescribed the supplies by a VA provider and received them within the past 2 years. If eligible, you can get these hearing aid supplies free of charge:
 Batteries
 Domes
 Wax guards
 Cleaning supplies
 Desiccant (drying products)
To order, you’ll sign in to VA.gov and fill out an online order form. You can follow the link below or find this link on the My HealtheVet homepage. You’ll also find instructions to order by phone or mail.
Order medical supplies on VA.gov
You’ll need a few items to place your order:
 Shipping address
 Hearing aid brand, model, and serial number
 Specific items you need (battery size, type of wax guard, etc.)
If you need help with this information, your local audiology clinic can assist.
Once you place the order, a confirmation email and tracking number will be sent within 1 to 2 days. Supplies should arrive in 7 to 10 days. Orders may take longer if the supplies are out of stock.
Reorder supplies 30 days before you need more.
For any ordering issues, email [email protected] for help.
Help with maintaining hearing aids
For help with maintenance and adjustments, first, contact the VA audiology and speech pathology service that issued your hearing aid.
Find the phone number for your local VA health facility
If you need repairs, you can send your VA-authorized hearing aids to our VA Denver Logistics Center. We provide repairs at no cost.
Learn how to request hearing aid repairs through the Denver Logistics Center
Or call us at 877-677-8710 (TTY: 711). We’re here Monday through Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. ET.

Please share - Kids and Pets have no protection if left in the vehicle!

Late June is bringing dangerous heat and humidity for much of the U.S.🔥🌡️ Parents — it's critical to prevent more children from dying in hot cars.

It's NEVER safe to leave a child alone in a vehicle:
🟡 Not if you're parked in the shade
🟡 Not if the windows are down
🟡 Not if you're just running a quick errand
