Last night, the Valley Springs Fire Department responded to the Valley Springs area for the report of a smoke filled residence. Arriving units reported light smoke in the residence but no fire. After a thorough investigation, the cause of the smoke was determined to be a faulty refrigerator. Crews ventilated the residence to remove all smoke conditions.

This morning, the Valley Springs Fire Department responded to the Valley Springs area for the report of a skid steer on fire. Harmon Fire Department was dispatched as automatic aid. Arriving units reported the skid steer to be fully engulfed. Due to the location of the fire, Brush Truck 1 was used for extinguishment. Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire. There were no injuries.

Last night, our members spent the evening training on drafting and pumping operations. These skills are essential for providing a reliable water supply in areas without hydrants and ensuring efficient fireground operations when every second counts.
