Juneau Public Libraries

Juneau Public Libraries The Juneau Public Libraries are the open door to exploration and lifelong learning. Library staff offices are located at the downtown branch.

The Juneau Public Libraries are a Department of the City and Borough of Juneau (www.juneau.org). We have three branches: the downtown Juneau Public Library (located atop the parking garage on the waterfront), the Mendenhall Valley Public Library (located at 3025 Dimond Park Loop) and the Douglas Public Library (located in the Douglas Community Building, a shared facility with the Fire Department).

The Juneau Public Libraries are part of the Joint Library consortium, including the three Juneau Public Libraries, the Anchorage Public Libraries, all University of Alaska libraries, the Alaska State Library, the Sealaska Heritage Institute, and more. A card obtained at any one of these facilities will allow you to check out or return materials at all facilities. (The Sealaska Heritage Institute is a non-circulating research library.) Comments posted to this page will be monitored. The CBJ reserves the right to remove inappropriate comments including those that have obscene language or sexual content, threaten or defame any person or organization, violate the legal ownership interest of another party, support or oppose political candidates or ballot propositions, promote illegal activity, promote commercial services or products or are not topically related to the particular posting.

It was an honor and joy to meet some of our Alaskan authors and illustrators at Celebration! Our Alaska section is one of the most-frequented by both visitors and residents at the libraries. These books represent Alaskan history, culture, and a broad range of perspectives across a vast landscape. Thank you for sharing your art and writing so we in turn can share it with the community!

We are feeling the library love from these sweet notes patrons left for us at Minicon! It always means a lot when people take the time to write about how the library has impacted them. And yes, we always read your notes😊💕📚
