📚 Learning, Growing & Bringing It Back to Ketchikan!

We are grateful for our families and community who continue to support the important work of our teachers and staff. Every day, our educators work hard to create safe, engaging, and meaningful learning experiences for Ketchikan students.

Recently, a delegation of Ketchikan educators had the opportunity to attend the DEED School Safety & Wellness Conference in Anchorage, thanks to travel grant funding secured by Mr. Jason House, Director of Federal Grants.

Our Ketchikan team participated in sessions covering school safety, AI and technology safety, health and fitness, emotional wellness, cultural strengths, positive supports for staff and students, and much more.

We are thankful for opportunities that allow our educators to learn, collaborate, and bring new ideas and skills home to our schools. 💙

Thank you to our staff, families, and community for continuing to support learning and growth throughout KGBSD!

✨At the Kayhi library, there are a ton good books mostly K-8th level that need re-homing from Fawn Mountain and Pt. Higgins.

📚The plan for donating books to a district up north fell through & we have book-sets, chapter books, non-fiction and picture books to give away.

📍📣Come on Friday 9/18 & Monday 9/21 between 8:00am-5:00pm & grab all you can carry!

🎒📚 A BIG thank you to the Ketchikan Moose Lodge # 224! 💙🫎

The Ketchikan Moose Lodge recently donated a generous collection of school supplies to KGBSD! These supplies will be distributed throughout the district to help ensure students who need them have the tools they need for a successful school year.

Their generosity didn’t stop there! The Moose Lodge also collected funds to donate toward our school lunch debt program, helping support KGBSD students and families in another meaningful way!

We are incredibly grateful to the Ketchikan Moose Lodge for their generosity and for being a wonderful community partner with KGBSD.

Thank you for supporting our students and schools! 🏫💙🫎

📢 School Board Livestream Update

Good evening! We are currently experiencing technical difficulties with the streaming service used to livestream our School Board meetings through the School District and Borough websites.

We are actively working to resolve the issue. In the meantime, tonight’s meeting can still be viewed live through the KPUtv+ app.

A backup recording of the meeting will be uploaded to our website tomorrow for anyone who is unable to watch live this evening.

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience and flexibility while we work through the issue. Thank you!
