Good afternoon, these two babies need to be fostering for a few weeks. If you have the availability to take care of these two, who are eating on their own, please call the shelter at 281-842-3700 and let us know. We can supply all the that you need for them.

Thank you to Friends of La Porte Animal Shelter and citizens who delivered food! Our pups appreciate it and so do we!

The shelter is running low on dog food and would really appreciate a few bags to hold us over until our order gets delivered! We know that donations can’t be picky but to keep the dogs tummies settled, we ask for Pedigree brand, either beef or chicken. As always - we thank you!

Garage Gary says the shelter life ain’t no life for him and spent some time in the office with staff. Now, he’s wanting to spend some time with his new mom or dad but hasn’t found them yet. This timid (at first) boy is looking for a home with older children or just his parents, a place the find a comfy spot to lay, and all the loves he can get!

🐾 Meet Almond! 🐾

Almond is an adorable 34-pound Shetland Sheepdog who is ready to leave shelter life behind and find the loving home he’s been waiting for. At 8–9 years old, Almond has officially entered his “I deserve ALL the cuddles” era—and he’s hoping someone will make that dream come true. ❤️

Almond is neutered, rabies vaccinated, and, most importantly, incredibly loving. He has been waiting patiently at the shelter since August 13, 2026, and sadly, he hasn’t had much interest. We just can’t understand how this sweet boy keeps getting overlooked!

If Almond could choose his perfect home, he’d probably pick a family where he gets to be the one and only, soaking up all the love and attention. 🥰 However, he could do well with a smaller canine brother or sister who is calm and respectful.

Almond doesn’t need anything fancy. He just needs someone willing to give him a cozy place to call home, a soft bed, plenty of love, and lots and lots of cuddles.

🏡 Almond’s dream is simple: to find his forever family soon.

Could you be the person who finally gives Almond the happy ending he deserves? ❤️🐾

Come meet Almond and see if you might be the one he’s been waiting for!
