Getting out into Wisconsin communities gives us the chance to connect with our members and hear firsthand about the work happening locally.

Today, the League’s Executive Director, COO, and Government Affairs Director visited Beloit, where they met with newly seated City Manager Daniel Ortiz, Finance Director, City Attorney/Deputy City Manager, and Interim Fire Chief.

A highlight of the conversation was Beloit’s planned consolidation with the Town of Beloit to deliver fire and EMS services together. The communities plan to pursue an innovation grant, with the new service model expected to launch in 2027.

Thanks to the Beloit team for sharing their time, their work, and an innovative example of communities working together to serve their residents.

In the August issue of The Municipality, four articles break down what local officials need to know about the changing PFAS landscape and what it could mean for your community.
