Last month, I had the opportunity to attend the Adjutant General Regional Huddle at Indiana’s Joint Force Headquarters alongside Command Chief Master Sgt. Chad Workman and my wife, Tina.

This strategic gathering brought together the Chief of the National Guard Bureau, his senior enlisted advisor, and senior leaders from Indiana, Illinois, Minnesota, Ohio, Michigan, Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, and Nebraska.

It was an amazing opportunity to collaborate on matters of mutual interest, share perspectives, and strengthen the partnerships that keep our states prepared and connected!

Recently, I held two town halls to discuss the priorities detailed in the Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs’ new strategy plan.

For years, we have pursued and accomplished our respective missions, establishing DMA as a reliable, effective partner. I am proud of the success of each of our component areas; however, it is time to recognize and celebrate the power of DMA when we work as one.

It is my intent that moving forward, we will acknowledge and embrace our joint, agency-wide mission and integrate the values we have collectively identified into our daily work. Together, we will ensure that DMA remains a trusted partner advancing the safety, security, and resilience of our state and nation.

Today, Wisconsin National Guard leadership hosted key leaders from the Experimental Aircraft Association during their visit to the Wisconsin Army Aviation Facility in Madison.

The relationship between our organizations began with the founding of EAA - The Spirit of Aviation in 1953 by Lt. Col. Paul Poberezny, who retired from the Wisconsin Air National Guard in 1970 following a distinguished career as a military aviator. The relationship continues to this day through the Wisconsin National Guard’s extensive participation in the annual EAA AirVenture event in Oshkosh. 🤝

Earlier this month, I had the incredible opportunity to travel to Washington, D.C. with Command Chief Master Sgt. Chad Workman to visit the Wisconsin Congressional Delegation–the federal elected officials that represent our state congressionally in both the Senate and the House of Representatives.

It was outstanding to meet with nearly every one of them to discuss Wisconsin National Guard priorities, give updates on all the great things our Guardsmen are doing, and answer any questions.
