PSA: Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office Warns of Scam Law Enforcement Calls
If you receive a phone call from someone claiming to be a law enforcement officer saying you have warrants, owe money, missed a court date/jury duty, or a loved one is in jail, etc., do not provide any personal information, do not pay for anything over the phone. Hang up and call us directly. We remind the public that the Sheriff’s Office will never contact you demanding payment. Don't fall for it, it's a scam.
If you receive a questionable call:
• Don’t give in to pressure to take immediate action.
• Don’t engage in any conversation, as scammers may record your response.
• Don’t provide your credit card number, bank account information, social
security number, or other personal information to a caller.
• Don’t send money if a caller tells you to wire money, pay with a prepaid debit card, or transfer any funds to a Bitcoin account.
• Don’t travel to any location the caller asked you to go to.
Note: The scammers can be very convincing, and some can “spoof” known and obvious Sheriff’s Office telephone numbers such as our Metro Dispatch Emergency Line.

Yesterday's Primary Election was a success, and we couldn't have done it without our incredible election inspectors and Clerk's Office staff!

Thank you to everyone who dedicated their time, energy, and attention to detail to ensure our election was conducted smoothly, accurately, and efficiently. From the early morning setup to the final closing procedures, your professionalism and commitment to serving our community made all the difference.

We are truly grateful for your hard work and dedication to protecting the integrity of the election process. Thank you for making York Township proud! 🗳️

There is so much hard work that goes into preparing for and running an election, and Michigan’s clerks and poll workers play a tremendous role in that.

We are grateful to those thousands of clerks and poll workers who dedicated their time and efforts to ensuring that Michigan had yet another secure and successful election.

Today (8/4) is Election Day! If you are not registered to vote, you may do so in person at the Clerk’s Office (11560 Stony Creek Rd) with two proofs of residency. Find your polling location and view your sample ballot at www.mi.gov/Vote. The polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

All voted Absentee Ballots must be returned to the Clerk’s Office (11560 Stony Creek Rd.) TODAY by 8:00 p.m. If you have any Election Day questions or concerns, call the Clerk’s Office at (734) 439-8842, opt 6.

It's Election Day! Polls are open statewide from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

If you still need to register, you can do so in your clerk’s office with proof of residency until 8 p.m. and vote.
