🌿 We are so lucky to have the Mitchell Park Domes right here in our community!

In the heart of Milwaukee, the Domes offer a beautiful space where you can step away from the city for a moment and feel surrounded by nature, color, and beauty. 🌺🌴

We are incredibly grateful to the The Milwaukee Domes for generously donating a membership to Walker’s Point Youth & Family Center. Because of their generosity, young people throughout our programs will have the opportunity to visit the Domes, explore something new, and experience the peace and beauty of this Milwaukee treasure.

Thank you for helping us create meaningful experiences for the youth we serve. 💚

One thing we have learned over and over again in this work is that no one organization can do it alone. We need each other, and our clients need us to need each other. ❤️

This weekend, Walker’s Point Youth & Family Center had tables at TWO resource fairs, and we left both feeling incredibly grateful for the people and organizations we get to do this work alongside.

The first was hosted by Pathfinders to make sure young people know about the resources and support available to them. The second was hosted at Ascension Lutheran Church, which is also home to our administrative offices. The church opened its doors and brought nonprofits together to support their congregation and the surrounding community.

There are so many people doing this work every day, and it isn’t always easy to be the person everyone turns to for support. That is why having great partners matters so much.

Thank you to everyone who shows up, makes the referral, shares a resource, opens a door, answers the phone, and does whatever it takes to support our community.

We may all have different missions, but we are so much better at this when we do it together. 💙

💙 A little update from our Walker’s Point family

Sometimes doing the work means slowing down for a moment to make sure we’re doing it right.

At this time, we are temporarily pausing overnight shelter stays while we train and build up a whole new shelter team. We know that our shelter is a lifeline for young people in our community, and we don’t take this pause lightly.

We also know that transitions can be hard, and we are incredibly grateful for your patience, understanding, and continued support while we work through this.

The good news is that Walker’s Point is still here. 💙

We’re putting in the work behind the scenes — training, supporting, and preparing our team so that when we reopen for shelter stays, we can continue providing the safe, welcoming, trauma-informed care our youth deserve.

We’re looking forward to getting back to our normal rhythm soon. Until then, thank you for sticking with us, believing in our mission, and helping us make sure vulnerable youth in Milwaukee know that they matter, they are welcome, and they are not alone. 💙

🍸💜 What a night! 💜🍸

A HUGE thank you to everyone who joined us at the beautiful Pfister Hotel for our Blutender event! We are incredibly grateful to everyone who spent their evening celebrating the work we do to support vulnerable youth in our community. Your presence, your generosity, and your belief in our mission mean so much to us.

And we had the honor of a double celebration! 🎉 Our amazing grant writer, Amalia, celebrated her birthday with us — and brought all of her friends along for the fun! Amalia, thank you for choosing to celebrate your life, your birthday, and the work you pour your heart into with Walker’s Point. We hope you felt just how appreciated you are! ❤️

We also finally settled one of the age-old questions:

🏠 Which is more important — shelter or housing?

The answer is: BOTH.

Shelter and housing support young people at different points in their lives and in different circumstances. Both are essential. Both change lives. And both deserve our support.

Last night’s official Blutender answer, however? SHELTER! 🥳

Congratulations to our incredible Shelter Team for raising the most! We are so proud of the work you do every single day to make sure vulnerable youth have a safe place to land when they need it most.

And finally, a very special shoutout to our famous staff bartenders! 🍹👏

By day, these incredible people dedicate their lives to supporting youth. By night, they became creative mixologists, crafting specialized drinks while telling our guests about the programs they work in and why their work matters.

They may have been behind the bar last night, but their hearts are always with the youth we serve. 💜

Thank you to everyone who celebrated with us, laughed with us, raised a glass with us, and supported our mission. We couldn’t do this work without you.

Cheers to another night of celebrating youth, community, and the people who make both possible! 🥂

Our staff are going head-to-head in a friendly fundraising competition! Each team will be sharing which WPYFC program they work for and why YOU should support it. 👀💰

Every drink, every donation, and every bit of support helps us continue providing critical services to vulnerable youth across Milwaukee. 🫶

📚✏️ Because every young person deserves to have what they need to succeed. 💙

We are incredibly grateful to have received an abundance of school supplies from our generous community! Rather than letting those supplies sit on a shelf, we’re putting them to work where they’re needed most.

Our team is putting together outreach hubs at local schools stocked with school supplies, information about our resources, and ways for students and families to connect with support.

And teachers — we haven’t forgotten about you! 🍎

We’re inviting teachers to stop by our Community Closet anytime to grab supplies they need for their classrooms. No judgment, no hoops to jump through — just a community coming together to make sure our kids and educators have what they need.

At Walker’s Point, we believe our job doesn’t stop at the shelter doors. We want to help any young person we can, in any way we can. Sometimes that looks like a safe place to sleep. Sometimes it’s a connection to resources. And sometimes it’s simply making sure a kid has a notebook, pencils, or a new backpack when they walk into school.

💚💛 We’re proud to be part of the Packers family!

The Green Bay Packers do so much for our community—from keeping us entertained and engaged during football season to investing in the organizations and causes that support our community’s most vulnerable.

We are incredibly honored to be selected as a 2026 grant recipient of the Green Bay Packers Foundation! 🧀🏈

This support helps us continue creating safe spaces, opportunities, and brighter futures for youth in our community. And, perhaps most importantly, it helps us help raise the next generation of Packers fans! 💚💛

📚💙 Books belong in every community!

We are so grateful to be selected as a grant recipient through the Impact Library Program to bring a Little Free Library to the outside of our shelter!

This new library will give our youth even more opportunities to discover new stories, explore new ideas, and find a book that speaks to them. But the impact doesn’t stop at our shelter doors—it will also be available to our neighbors and the entire community. 📖✨

We believe literacy should be accessible to everyone, and we’re excited to create a space where people can take a book, leave a book, and share the joy of reading.

📚✨ Back-to-school season should be about excitement, not worry. ✨📚

Starting a new school year can bring so many emotions, especially for youth who may not have everything they need to feel confident and prepared on the first day.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of Kika’s Thrifty Treasures, each of our residents received two new outfits and a pair of shoes to help them start the school year feeling confident, comfortable, and ready to take on whatever comes next. 👟👕💙

And because every kid deserves a little fun, they were also treated to ice cream! 🍦

These acts of kindness may seem simple, but they can make a huge difference to a young person who is navigating so much already. Thank you, Kika’s Thrifty Treasures, for investing in our youth and showing them that their community cares about them. We are so grateful for your commitment to Walker’s Point Youth & Family Center and the young people we serve! 💙
