👋Take Me Home Program🙌

The Missoula Police Department’s Take Me Home Program is designed to help our officers better assist community members who may have difficulty communicating or safely navigating their surroundings during an emergency or unexpected encounter.

The voluntary program allows caregivers and family members to provide important information about an individual with autism, dementia, alzheimer’s disease, down syndrome, developmental disabilities, or other medical, cognitive, or behavioral conditions.

Having this information available can help responding officers understand who the individual is, where they belong AND most importantly, the best way to communicate with and assist them.

If you care for someone who could benefit from the Take Me Home Program, we encourage you to sign them up.

🛴 E-SCOOTER SAFETY REMINDER
As e-scooters become a common way to get around campus, UMPD reminds riders to make safety a priority. Obey traffic laws, stay alert, yield to pedestrians, wear a helmet, and ride at a safe speed. Avoid riding distracted or impaired, use proper lighting at night, and always lock your scooter when not in use.

Ride smart. Ride safe. Look out for one another.

As fans return to Washington-Grizzly Stadium, the University of Montana Police Department reminds the campus community to make safety a priority throughout gameday.

• Review stadium policies before arriving.
• Arrive early and plan for increased traffic and security screening.
• Remain aware of your surroundings and report suspicious activity.
• Keep personal belongings secured and with you at all times.
• Monitor weather conditions and prepare accordingly.
• If consuming alcohol, do so responsibly and arrange a safe, sober ride home.
• Follow directions from law enforcement, event staff, and emergency personnel.

First Montana Grizzlies Football game of the season in the books!

UMPD was proud to support another great night of Griz football. Our officers worked alongside university staff, event personnel, and outside law enforcement agencies to help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone in attendance.
