Behind the scenes leading up to our 6th Annual Pancake Breakfast! 🥞🚒

Every year around this time, our members and their families spend time filling a few thousand envelopes with information about our Pancake Breakfast, which you can find below in this post.

If you are a resident or own a business in the Township of Clarno or Township of Monroe, once again you can expect an envelope in the mail!

Happy Friday from Monroe Rural Fire District! 🎉

Last night, Thursday 27th, for driver training, Monroe Rural firefighters practiced drafting water from a creek with our pump trailer and moving water with tenders. We also practiced a water source from a portable tank with an engine drafting from it. Other firefighters worked on driving the utility truck and putting up banners!

Did you know? For Monroe Rural Firefighters, every month the 4th Thursday is driver training. Every 1st and 3rd Monday is regular training, with one Saturday or Sunday each month for specialized training. Every 4th Monday is clean-up and maintenance. Then, 1st Thursday is first responders training for our EMRs and EMTs.

Monroe Rural firefighters stay trained, prepared, and ready to serve the Townships of Clarno and Monroe and surrounding communities.

As children across Wisconsin return to school, keeping them safe should be everyone’s #1 priority.

Children may not always see approaching vehicles or recognize danger around them. Drivers need to slow down, and stay alert near schools, crosswalks, and on rural roads, and stop for school buses displaying flashing red lights—that’s the law! 🚨

If your child waits for the bus on a rural road, have them stand at least 10–12 feet back from the active roadway, completely off the gravel shoulder, and stay aware of their surroundings. Parents, teach your children to stay alert while walking, riding a bike, or waiting for the bus.

Staying alert save lives! Let’s all do our part to help everyone get to school or work and back home safely.

The sun was shining, which made our golf outing even better! ⛳🚒 A huge thank you to Chelsea White-Country Financial for making this event happen! We had plenty of smiles, laughter, and great memories throughout the day.

A few Monroe Rural Firefighters also got together and played. Thank you to Juda Fire And Rescue, Cedarville Fire Protection District, and Lena Fire Department for putting teams together and joining us! Thank you to every golfer who signed up and supported Monroe Rural Fire District, and to Wolf Hollow Golf Club for hosting us.

🚨 TRAFFIC ALERT 🚨

This morning, August 17th, Monroe Rural Firefighters were on scene for a gas main that was struck.

⚠️ Please avoid taking STH 69 and use an alternate route if possible. Thank you!

Due to a construction incident, STH 69 is closed to ALL traffic... local traffic and emergency traffic... From CTH FF/Aebly Rd down to Rolling Acres Rd. Contractors estimate this will be approximately 3-4 hrs.

Monroe Rural Fire District Training Day 🔥

Today, the 16th, Monroe Rural Fire District firefighters had the opportunity to train at Koning Maple Lane Event Center using an old barn that has deteriorated over the years. Crews conducted controlled room burns to observe how fire behaves. Our newer and our experienced pump operators also practiced water movement with tenders, along with a variety of pumping operations and relay pumping techniques. This hands-on training helps sharpen the skills needed during emergency scenes.

A huge thank you to Koning Maple Lane Event Center for allowing us to use the property for this invaluable training. We’d also like to thank Monroe - Aebi Schmidt Group and Buehler Interiors for generously donating old pallets and cardboard that helped make this training possible. We truly appreciate the continued support from our community as we work to stay prepared to serve and protect! 🚒😁

You may notice some smoke and small amounts of fire coming from inside the barn concretewalls for a while. There is no need to be alarmed! Firefighters are continuing to monitor the area, and the property owner is also keeping an eye on it.
