HEADLINES
Get the Flock out of Mount Vernon
Please join us on June 24th 6:45pm at the Mount Vernon City Council meeting. Meet at 1805 Continental Place, Mount Vernon at the police station (where city council meetings are held). Public comments start at 7 pm sharp. We are asking everyone who wants the city council to NOT renew the Flock surveillance contract to show up, make public comment if comfortable.

Clyde Shavers / Joe Burns Joint Campaign Event
Please join us on Wednesday, June 24th at Civic Garden Club in La Conner for an evening with Representative Clyde Shavers and local community leaders.
These events will be an opportunity to connect with neighbors, discuss the issues facing our communities, and help shape state and county priorities for 2026. Joining us will be Skagit County Commissioner Joe Burns.
Come enjoy great conversation, meet fellow community members, and learn more about the work ahead. Food and refreshments will be provided!

Burlington Community Door-knocking Event
Join State Representative Alex Ramel, Skagit County Auditor candidate Jeremy Harrison-Smith, and Skagit County Commissioner Joe Burns for a community door-knocking event in Burlington on Saturday, June 27. We'll meet at Maiben Park at 2:00 p.m. Volunteers of all experience levels are welcome.

County Commissioner Candidate Forum
The Skagit League of Women Voters will be sponsoring a live Candidate Forum to provide the voters in Skagit County Commissioner District 3 a chance to learn about the 3 candidates running for this position in the August 4 primary election. All Skagit County registered voters will be voting in the general election for the District 3 final two candidates.

2027 Legislative Priorities Survey Released
The Washington State Democratic Central Committee (WSDCC) has been working for months to create their 2027 Legislative Priorities Survey!
The Advocacy Committee creates this survey annually to collect data on the issues most important to Democrats across the state. Once they collect the data, they use it to compile their 2027 Legislative Priorities, which are used to advocate in the state legislature.
Please fill out the 2027 Legislative Priorities Survey, and share it with any Democrat you know! All Democrats are welcome to complete the survey.
Donated Items Needed for Silent Auction.
The Skagit County Democrats' Annual Gala raises funds to support our operations and help elect Democratic candidates. We need donations of silent auction items for the gala. Do you have any items you would like to donate, such as unwanted (unopened / unused) gifts, gift cards, tickets for events after September 5, or other goods or services? If so, your donations can fuel our efforts. Volunteers Needed at Skagit Democrats Headquarters:
Democrats get elected because of our consistent presence in the community, however volunteer help is still needed in the office at Skagit Democrats HQ.
We’re looking for volunteers to assist at Skagit Democrats Headquarters with day-to-day operations and campaign support. Tasks include greeting visitors, answering phones, helping organize materials, assembling literature, keeping our space running smoothly and having fun, as we support candidates across Skagit County!
Whether you can give a few hours a week or just drop in occasionally, your time makes a real difference. Office volunteering is a great way to meet other Democrats, stay connected to the work we’re doing, and make a tangible impact on the success of our campaigns.

Write for Democracy! (Formerly Coffee with Cards)
Join a welcoming group each Wednesday, 10:00 AM–12:00 PM, to write postcards and letters to fellow citizens, elected officials, and community leaders. We prioritize local issues, share info on how to engage effectively with government, and learn together while having fun!
