As our community transitions from immediate disaster response into long-term recovery, United Way of Southern Colorado will close the Aspen Acres Donation & Distribution Center at 2670 Delphinium St. on September 30.

The remaining Fire Survivor Shopping Days will be:
Tuesday, September 22, from 10 a.m.–2 p.m.
Tuesday, September 29, from 10 a.m.–2 p.m.

Fire survivors are encouraged to visit the Center and select any remaining items that would be helpful to their recovery. An evacuation card or other proof of residency will be required.

Although the physical Donation & Distribution Center is closing, the work of recovery continues. Fire survivors with ongoing unmet needs can begin the intake process for case management and long-term recovery resources at aartsoco.com.

We are deeply grateful to the organizations, volunteers, donors, and community members who contributed supplies, referred families, shared resources, and worked alongside us throughout this response. This effort was possible because so many people stepped forward when our community needed them.

Federal changes are coming to Colorado’s Medicaid program, Health First Colorado. Starting October 1, 2026, some immigrants who currently qualify may lose full coverage — but many people will not be affected. If you are, you’ll receive a letter before anything changes.

What to do now, before October 1, 2026:

Update your information at Colorado PEAK (co.gov/PEAK ), the Health First Colorado app, or your county human services office.

Use your coverage now — schedule medical, dental, and behavioral health appointments and refill prescriptions.

Watch for official letters and respond to any you receive.

Reach out to someone you trust. Local organizations are ready to help.
