🏔️ A little mountain magic in Mount Shasta! 🍂✨

Spent the day soaking up the beauty of Shasta! We hiked up to Heart Lake, enjoyed lunch at Pipeline, and stopped at the headwaters to fill our jugs with fresh spring water. 💧

Beautiful fall colors, mountain views, fresh air, and plenty of smiles. Sometimes the best days are the simplest ones. ❤️

🌳 My Old Friend 💚

Some trees just have a way of making you stop and appreciate the moment.

I’ve visited this beautiful tree before, and every time I return, it feels like catching up with an old friend. Still standing strong, still beautiful, and always reminding me to slow down and enjoy the little things.

There’s something special about reconnecting with familiar places in nature.🌿

A little adventure above Heart Lake! 🥾🍂🏔️

We ventured beyond Heart Lake and were rewarded with some absolutely breathtaking views! Colorful fall foliage, beautiful alpine lakes, Castle Lake shimmering below, snowcapped Mount Shasta, and an incredible view of the ancient Gray Rocks in the distance.

The crisp mountain air, changing colors, and endless mountain views made this one of those hikes you wish would never end.

Northern California never ceases to amaze me! 💚

Can a Woolly Bear Caterpillar Predict Winter? 🍂

Look what we spotted while exploring Castle Crags State Park!

This fuzzy little creature is a banded woolly bear caterpillar, and according to an old folklore tradition, its colors can predict the winter ahead!

🖤 More black = a colder, harsher winter.

🧡 More rusty orange = a milder winter.

Of course, there’s no scientific evidence that woolly bears can forecast the weather, but it’s a fun fall tradition!

This little guy has a pretty wide orange band. Could a mild Northern California winter be ahead? 🍁

Have you heard this old winter weather folklore?
