Offers free programs, services, and resources to families. Keeping children safe & families together.

The Children’s Cabinet represents a unique and effective collaboration between the private sector and public agencies in Nevada. We help more than 11,000 families annually with a wide range of services: basic needs, child care resources, education, and work experience programs, crisis intervention, and family counseling. As a non-profit agency, The Children’s Cabinet relies on community support to provide programs and services at no charge to children and their families.

If your family relies on Medicaid, it’s important to be aware of upcoming changes.

Beginning January 1, 2027, some Nevada Medicaid members ages 19-64 may need to meet work, volunteer, or school requirements to maintain their health coverage. Many individuals may qualify for exemptions, including parents and caregivers, pregnant individuals, people with disabilities, those receiving treatment for substance use disorders, and others.

Now is the time to prepare. ✅ Update your contact information, learn whether the new requirements apply to you, and check your renewal date to help avoid interruptions in coverage.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and Purple Thursday is a national day of action to raise awareness, support survivors, and stand together for safer, healthier communities.

Every day, we see how domestic violence affects children and families. Today, our teams across every office and program location are wearing purple to spark conversations, show solidarity with survivors, and renew our commitment to prevention, safety, and support. 💜
